CEX-FSE (Fire Suppressive Enclosure)

Features

  • Custom build design based on CE-TEK’s successful CEX stainless steel enclosure range, incorporating Ex Restricted Breathing concept..
  • Each CEX-FSE is optimised to match the specific equipment being housed inside the enclosure using thermal modelling software.
  • CEX -FSE enclosures are fitted with high temperature seals and gaskets to prevent the potential escape of toxic fumes and smoke
  • Optional items include, integrated smoke/heat/fire detection with volt-free alarm signal output devices.

Ingress protection levels

IP66 and 67 (EN 60529/IEC 60529)

Ambient temperature

-55ºC to +65°C with appropriate gasket

Description

CE-TEKs CEX_FSE Fire Suppressive Enclosures are custom designed using proven ‘restrictive breathing’ concepts employed in Zone 2 or Zone 22 hazardous area protection. The objective of using CEX-FSE enclosures is prevent the spread of fire and smoke caused by overheating electrical equipment. The concept works in a similar way to fire damper systems where the oxygen and air source is cut off to prevent fire and smoke increasing and spreading. By restricting the air source to be solely within the enclosure, without ingress of external air/oxygen, we achieve the same objective to contain and prevent the spread of fire, smoke and toxic fumes.

CE-TEK’s CEXFR  range of fireproof enclosures and junction boxes are well established and custom designed from stainless steel to meet specific fire rated requirements, high temperatures and are generally rated to IP66. CEX-FSE enclosures are available with hinged doors fitted with high temperature seals and gaskets and enclosures’ ability to quickly extinguish an internal fire allows CEX-FSE enclosures to remain sufficiently cool externally to prevent significant distortion or seal damage. Additionally, successfully installing CEX-FSE enclosures ensures that adjacent equipment, plant or nearby personnel are shielded from high temperatures emitted by burning equipment within the enclosure.

CE-TEK also manufacture four series of fire rated junction boxes (CEX, ACEX, CEP and CEJ), which are tested for fire to various standards including: BS5839-1: 2013 Sec 26.2e; BS EN 50200: 2006;  BS 8434-2: 2003; IEC60331-2: 2009, BS8434-2: 2003 + A2: 2009; IEC331 and BS6387-11: 1994.
